Registerlovene 1978Acts on Private Registers and on Public Authorities' Registers 1978 (Acts Nos. 293 and 294)

Repealed/superseded
Partly verifiedMedium confidence. The Act numbers and 1 January 1979 date come from search-result summaries of a 1986 Folketing bill (which says the private registers act has been in force since 1 January 1979) and a Greenland parliamentary answer; the originals were not opened. The Datatilsynet's own 2014 statement says the 1978 Acts still applied in Greenland; that is not modelled here. text_url is the Datatilsynet 2000 annual report, as no text of the 1978 Acts was found. Retsinformation did not render and the 1978 Act texts were not found online, so text_url remains the Datatilsynet annual report.

§1Summary

Synopsis

Denmark's first general data protection rules came as two parallel Acts, one for private registers and one for registers kept by public authorities. They created the Registertilsynet to supervise them. Both Acts were repealed by the Act on Processing of Personal Data on 1 July 2000. Recorded here as one row because the two Acts were enacted together and replaced together.
